Quantum Armadillo is the first AI system purpose-built to predict superconducting materials from phonon density of states data. It started as a research project at Armadillo Labs — a pile of scripts around Quantum ESPRESSO, a few trained classifiers, and a lot of manual structure files.

The approach worked. The cascade correctly ranks known superconductors across cuprates, bismuthates, nickelates, and intermetallics. It surfaced candidates that synthesis chemistry had passed over. What used to take a postdoc a quarter takes the engine an afternoon.
